A former natural foods chef, Christian left the NYC restaurant world in 2002, went back to school for Exercise Science, and has been working in the fitness industry as a trainer and coach ever since, earning dozens of related certifications along the way. He’s a PN (Precision Nutrition) Level 2 Coach, and has worked at CrossFit South Brooklyn since 2009 as a senior coach and the director of programming from 2009 – 2020. He’s gone from being an unhealthy and overweight child (soda, chips, and fast food, please!), to an unhealthy and underweight adult (“vegan” and yoga only, please!), to a “fit but fat” adult (I workout and lift weights, I eat whatever I want!).

Nowadays, he happily maintains a healthy, well rounded level of fitness with smart training, regular movement, and healthy eating. His goal is to educate and inspire people to be strong and fit as a lifestyle choice, one they’ll stick with long term. Christian can help you develop an approach to exercise and nutrition that’s down to earth, made to fit your lifestyle, and will lead you to your goals (as long as you’re up for the work).

He loves dark leafy greens with garlic and beans, and makes the best breakfast hash.

Growing up on a steady diet of Mexican rice & beans and American fast food, Jessica relied on her year-around involvement in sports to keep her weight in check.  That changed in college when activity levels dropped and the “freshman fifteen” became more like the “freshman forty”.  Thanks to a college roommate, she got a job at vegetarian restaurant which not only opened her eyes to the wonderful world of vegetables but introduced her to her future husband.  She thanks him for introducing her to CrossFit South Brooklyn where she was a Full-time coach and Administrative Director for over 10 years. She is a PN (Precision Nutrition) Level 1 Coach, a Girls Gone Strong Level 1 Coach and a CrossFit Level 2 Coach along with other CrossFit Speciality certifications.

Over the years, Jessica has experimented with everything from Paleo, Zone, IIFYM to the South Beach and Abs Diets to an “eat like a powerlifter” mindset. Using the same principles that she uses with her clients, she has happily settled on a balanced approach to nutrition and fitness which has put her at her healthiest self yet.

She loves homemade yogurt with fruit, nuts and a little granola and could eat it everyday for breakfast.
